Chris Betts has more than 15 years of construction experience. After obtaining a degree in Construction Management from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Chris began as a project manager for a commercial plumbing company. He later moved on to the Kiewit Corporation as a project manager in Denver to build well known projects including the Aurora VA hospital. Wanting to live in Colorado long term, Chris became a Project Manager for Shaw Construction and has now lives happily in Grand Junction.

Lane Johnson grew up in rural Colorado and has over 25 years of construction experience. After attending UNC, Lane returned to the Upper Arkansas Valley, working for a local general contractor and eventually settling in at Kiewit as a team member managing projects ranging from several million dollars to multiple projects whose budgets exceeded a billion dollars. Having gained training and experience, Lane sought to return to the small town lifestyle after traveling the country for a decade. Always having close ties to the Grand Valley, Lane moved to the Grand Valley in 2009, He joined Mountain Valley Contracting in 2010.

Mark is proud to be the 3rd generation of a family owned business in Grand Junction. He graduated from Mesa State College in 1983 with a degree in accounting. Mark is interested in legislative and regulatory issues and served on CRMCA (Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association) Past Board of Directors and currently serves on CSSGA (Colorado Stone, Sand, & Gravel Association) Board of Directors. Mark brings a wealth of knowledge to WCCA and a strong voice in regulations.

Justin has been working in the civil construction industry for 18 years with expertise including engineering, design, project management, cost estimating, and inspection. He recently joined the United Companies team after being the Project Engineer for the City of Grand Junction. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Arizona University and a State of Colorado Professional Engineer’s license. Justin has experience and a practical approach to work. He wants to participate within our construction community with other industry leaders and sees this board position as an opportunity to assist others to better understand the benefits of WCCA.

Derek Hamilton graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a B.S. in Construction Management and a Minor in Business Administration. During his time at Asset Engineering, he has utilized his talents and education to complete multiple successful projects. WCCA has played a critical role in helping him and fellow CMU students navigate from classroom to the field. Derek aims to use his experience as a young construction professional to help educate and guide current students as they prepare to join the workforce.

Dan is branch manager of Wagner Rents in Grand Junction; he has been in the construction industry for many years. Dan feels that WCCA is very helpful to members through bringing current knowledge and opportunities to the membership. The strength of the association lies in the project listing. Dan’s experience working as both a supplier and contractor is beneficial to fellow Board members and the membership as a whole.

Brad Keller works for FCI Constructors, Inc. He spent his formative years in Grand Junction and returned in 1999. Brad has been a board member for the ABC, helped with the District 51 Construction to Career day, has been fortunate enough to work on several local charity construction projects, is a graduate of the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Program, and is on the WCCA board because it is important to be involved with the industry through advocacy and representation. His belief is that it is important to stand up for and protect our local industry/economy.

Darrin Case attended Fruita Monument High School. He then went on to attend Utah Valley University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. After college he became a Field/Office Engineer at Hensel Phelps Construction in Sacramento, California. In 2005 he started working with FCI Constructors in Grand Junction. In 2014 he left FCI to work for Dare-Case Contracting as the Vice President. He has been working in construction for over 23 years learning a variety of aspects of the construction industry. He has a vested stake in the construction industry in the Grand Valley.

John Aggen has been in the civil construction industry for 21 years with a variety of experience in the areas of engineering design and construction management.  He currently works for IHC Scott, Inc. and has spent his career working on projects in the fields of transportation, commercial and residential construction, oil and gas, and railroad construction.  John earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from California State University Fullerton.  He and his wife Kandis live in Grand Junction with their three children and enjoy the endless number of outdoor activities that Western Colorado has to offer.  John feels that building strong relationships is an important aspect in life

I’ve been in Asphalt Construction since 1986.  I started with being a plant loader operator, moved to plant operator, project manager, and continued my way up to asphalt Plant Operator at Elam Construction.  My wife and I have 6 kids, 23 grandkids and one great grandchild.  I have enjoyed my time in all the jobs I have done in the constructions field.  I officiate basketball in the community and have coached in the past.  Hobbies include working on cars and trucks and a tractor, as well as snowmobiling, hunting, and just spending family time together.

I am the owner of Rocky Mountain Aggregate and Construction.  We operate gravel mines and quarries in Montrose, Gunnison and Delta Counties. We also provide civil construction services on the Western Slope of Colorado.  I am the 5th generation member of my family to be in this type of business in Western Colorado.  I have recently served as President of the Colorado Stone Sand and Gravel Association and have been on its board of directors since 2013.  I look forward to serving on the board of directors of the WCCA by working with its current leadership and vast membership.
