Mesa County is in the process of updating three important documents that impact the land development, transportation infrastructure, and stormwater management processes of Mesa County residents, developers, contractors and other businesses of Mesa County.

The Mesa County Community Development Department is updating the 2020 Land Development Code (Amended 4-23-24) which guides the land development process. This project is being managed by Sean Norris, Planning Department Manager.

The Mesa County Engineering Division is updating the Mesa County Design Standards (Revised 12-17-2020) which applies to all new roadway facilities improvements and additions in Mesa County, including various permits needed for activities within the public right-of-way. This project is being managed by Laura Page, Engineering Division Director.

And finally, the Stormwater Management Manual (December 32, 2007), which applies to all new development and redevelopment within Mesa County, including public lands, rights-of-way, easements and privately-owned drainage facilities. This project is being managed by Carrie Gudorf, Regulatory Programs Manager.

Representatives from Mesa County will be providing the planned processes and schedules for the updating of these three documents, and will be soliciting input from interested stakeholders.
