Western Colorado Contractors Association Established by 6 area contractors to have a voice in Western Colorado

WCCA Plan Room opens and adjoining office in Intermountain Glass & Metal Company

1966

WCCA Planroom moves to basement of Independent Lumber Company near First Street & Grand Ave.

1971

WCCA participates in Construction Industry Management Council to give association a voice in statewide group

1972

WCCA planroom gets a phone!

1976

WCCA opens Plan Room at 1000 N. 9th St., STE 14.  The association leases a copier and buys office furniture

1977

Women allowed to attend general WCCA meetings

1980

WCCA merges with Associated General Contractors of Colorado (AGC/C) and becomes a branch chapter of AGC/C

1985

WCCA’s Planroom moves to 1250 N 25th St.

1988

WCCA’s Planroom moves to 145 Grand Avenue.

1989

WCCA discontinues affiliation with AGC/C

1992

WCCA moves Plan Room to 1227 N. 23rd. St., STE 101 and purchases a computer

1996

WCCA hosts first Grand Junction Golf Tournament at Adobe Creek with nine participating teams

WCCA reaches 97 members

WCCA members extensively remodel office space at 1227 N. 23rd St., STE 107 for WCCA’s expanded Plan Room and offices

WCCA opens Glenwood Springs Plan Room; WCCA  reaches 200 members

WCCA unveils its Online Plan Room

WCCA hosts its first Golf Tournament at LaKota Canyon in New Castle

WCCA starts scholarship program for construction trades through Western Colorado Community College.

WCCA pays off mortgage for building at 2470 Patterson STE 14

2012

WCCA organizes a mud run to benefit Western Slope Special Olympics.  Over $34k was raised in 3 years for program.

2013

Colorado Mesa University adds construction management program.

2014

WCCA elects first female president, Katy Schreiner.

2017

WCCA begins Heavy Equipment Operators Apprenticeship through Colorado Department of Labor.
