WCCA Board of Directors
WCCA’s Board of Directors consist of the President, Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer and eight directors; one of which will be the Past-Present for a total of (11) board of directors. The board is elected by the full membership with elections held in December. The elected board member serves for a period of two (2) years. Nothing herin shall preclude board members from running for additional terms.
Dan Quillen | Board Director
Dan is branch manager of Wagner Rents in Grand Junction for 6 years, he has been in the industry for a total of 48 years; Dan feel that WCCA is very helpful to members and is on the forefront of knowledge and opportunities. The strength of the association lies in the project listing and is a great asset to the members. Dan’s experience working on both sides of the industry as a supplier and contractor offers his experience to work well with other board members.

Brad Keller | Past President
FCI Constructors Inc.
Brad Keller works for FCI Constructors Inc. He has spent his formative years in Grand Junction and returned in 1999. Brad has been a board member for the ABC, helped with the District 51 Construction to Career day, has been fortunate enough to work on several local charity construction projects, is a graduate of the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Program and is on the WCCA board because it is important to be involved with the industry through advocacy and representation. His belief is that If we don’t fight for and protect our local industry / economy, no one else will.

Jesse Nelson | Past President
Jesse Nelson is with Sorter Construction and has over ten years of project management experience in the Grand Valley. He currently resides in Delta with his wife, Beth, and their two daughters. Jesse spends his spare time coaching youth soccer enjoying outdoor activities and cheering on the Denver Broncos.

Paul Burdett | Vice President
Paul Burdett, Mays Concrete, Inc., VP Operations. Starting as a project engineer, Paul spent 8 years on the mill tailings remediation in UT., finishing as a project manager. He hired on with Mays Concrete in 2001 and worked his way up from project manager/estimator to his current position as Vice President of Operations. With over 25 years experience, Paul has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Geology from Colorado Mesa University and a Masters Degree in engineering management from the University of Colorado. He has served as board director/chairman for Associated Builders and Contractors. Paul currently attends the WCCA Governmental Affairs Committee assisting with governmental issues and legislation that supports the construction industry.

Bryan Kissner | Board Member
Kissner General Contractors, Inc.
Bryan Kissner, Kissner General Contractors, Inc., President & Owner. After graduating from Cedaredge HS and trade school, Bryan worked as a seasonal laborer for Corn Construction, in residential building for Ament Construction, and then as a Superintendent & Project Manager for Francis Construction. He started Kissner & Keep (1993) and Kissner General Contractors, Inc. (1995). His projects include commercial vertical builds & heavy civil projects which have earned multiple awards from Engineering News Record, including Best Specialty Project, Award of Merit for Safety, Best Project, Top Contractor in CO & WY and finalist for Equipment World’s Contractor of the Year. He has worked with many quality people in the industry and his experience is a positive that others can gain perspective from.

Derek Hamilton | Past President

Derek Hamilton graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a B.S. in Construction Management and a Minor in Business Administration. During his time at Asset Engineering, he has utilized his talents and education to complete multiple successful projects. WCCA has played a critical role in helping him and fellow CMU students navigate from classroom to the field. Derek aims to utilize his experience as a young construction professional to help educate and guide current students as they prepare to join the workforce.

Mark Gardner | Secretary – Treasurer

Mark is proud to be the 3rd generation family owned business in Grand Junction. He graduated from Mesa State in 1983 with a degree in accounting. Mark is interested in legislative and regulatory issues and served on CRMCA Past Board of Directors (Ready Mix Association) and currently serves on CSSGA (Sand & Gravel Assoc.) Board of directors). Mark brings a wealth of knowledge to WCCA and a strong voice in regulations.

Justin Vensel | President
Oldcastle SW Group Inc. DBA United Companies
Justin has been working in the civil construction industry for 18 years with expertise including engineering, design, project management, cost estimating and inspection. He recently joined the United Companies team after being the Project Engineer for the City of Grand Junction. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Norther Arizona University and a State of Colorado Professional Engineer’s license. Justin has experience and a practical approach to work. He wants to participate within our construction community with other industry leaders and sees this board position as an opportunity to assist others to better understand the benefits of WCCA.

Chris Betts | Board Member
Chris Betts has 15 Year of construction experience. After obtaining a degree in Construction Management (University of Nebraska at Lincoln), Chris began as a project manager for a commercial plumbing company. He later moved on to the Kiewit Corporation as a project manager in Denver to build famous projects including the Aurora VA hospital. Wanting to live in Colorado long term, Chris became a Project Manager for Shaw Construction and has lived happily in Grand Junction for two years.

Darrin Casee | Board Member
Darrin Case attended Fruita Monument High School. He then went on to attend Utah Valley University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. After college he became a Field/Office Engineer at Hensel Phelps Construction in Sacramento, California. In 2005 he started working with FCI Constructors in Grand Junction, Co. In 2014 he left FCI to work for Dare-Case Contracting as the Vice President. He has been working in construction for over 23 years learning a variety of aspects of construction. He has a vested stake in the construction industry in the Grand Valley.

Lane Johnson | Board Member
Mountain Valley Contracting
Lane Johnson grew up in rural Colorado and has over 25 years of Construction experience . After attending UNC Lane returned to the Upper Arkansas valley, working for a local general contractor and eventually settling in at Kiewit becoming a team member managing projects ranging from several million dollars to multiple projects who’s budgets exceeded a billion dollars. Having garnered training and experience Lane sought to return to the small town lifestyle after traveling the country for a decade. Always having close ties to the Grand Valley Lane moved to the Grand Valley in 2009. Starting with Mountain Valley in 2010.
